What is the Political Courage Test?

Texas Congressional Election 2022 Political Courage Test

Pro-choice Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
I believe a woman has God given free will to chose how she handles her pregnancy. Therefore, any abortion should be allowed by the US Federal Government. However, at the point in time where the fetus can survive outside of the mother's womb, then he/she should be considered a person and if the mother or any one else decides to terminate this medically viable life at that point, it should be considered murder. Further, Federal funding should not be provided, as, in effect we are forcing tax payers to pay for something they do not support, and may even oppose.
No Do you support expanding federal funding to support social safety net programs such as Social Security and Medicare?
If we expect to have freedom and individual rights, then we cannot expect that the government is going to take care of us in retirement or for our medical needs. This is our individual responsibility, and the the federal government should not be involved. We should end all government programs that pretend to "take care" of individuals Family and/or charitable organizations can take care of those in need as they did for over a century before the Government stepped in to help. If we give up our individual responsibilities, we give up our freedoms.
No Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations, unions, and individuals?
How one (a person or an organization) spends their money is not a concern of the Federal Government. Any attempt to limit or track how one spends is a violation of rights guaranteed under the US Constitutions and the Bill of Rights.
No Do you support the protection of government officials, including law enforcement officers, from personal liability in civil lawsuits concerning alleged misconduct?
At the end of the day, these people are individuals and are individually responsible for their decisions and actions. Anything less becomes the "but I was just following orders" defense, which should not be allowed in any circumstance.
No Do you support increasing defense spending?
The US spends more than all other nations on defense combined. We can reduce our spending to 1/2 of what it is, from 801 Billion to 400 Billion, and still have the largest, most well funded military in the world, still out spending China by nearly 37%. Given we are nearly 32 Trillion in debt. We should take immediate and aggressive action to cut defense spending and begin to pay back our huge debt.
No Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support providing financial relief to businesses AND/OR corporations negatively impacted by the state of national emergency for COVID-19?
Yes Do you support the federal government taking action, beyond those of the Federal Reserve, to alleviate inflation?
Inflation is directly caused by too much Government spending. too much money added to the economy by Government programs. The only way to reduce inflation is to cut spending. Ultimately the US Federal Government should not be involved in any aspect of the US or World economies. As a Libertarian, I promote Laissez-faire Capitalism. When, I am a member of Congress, I will take actions to reduce government spending and intrusive regulations on businesses and our economy.
No Do you support the forgiveness of federal student loan debt?
Individual debt is Individual debt. If, as an individual you expect someone else to re-pay your debts for you, then you have shown a lack of individual responsibility, and therefore deserve no individual rights, as guaranteed to us by the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Is it really worth the Government paying of your 10k or even 100k student loan debt to lose your right to free speech or others? Think about it.
No Do you support requiring a government-issued identification in order to vote at the polls?
There should be no Federal Government issued ID card, for any reason. States may wish to require state ID, and may enact laws as they see fit.
No Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)?
No Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
Our Federal Government should act in accordance with our US Constitution. Period! Please take the time to read this document. It is not that long and critical that all Americans know this document and the associated Bill of Rights to the best of their individual ability. In the Constitution you do not find it "enumerated" the the Federal Government can or should be involved in greenhouse gas emissions or any other pollution of resources. Therefore this area, under the 10th Amendment falls to the People or to the States.
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
The second amendment to the US Constitution is very clear. "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." All of us are individual citizens are the Militia. Our right in this area "shall not be infringed" by any law or regulation, whatsoever. The purpose of this amendment, along with the little known 3rd, is to ensure, if, as individuals and property owners, we are faced with a government, or individuals, who threaten us, we have the right to defend ourselves.
No Do you support a government-run (single-payer) healthcare program, such as Medicare-for-All?
No Do you support expanding paid family AND/OR medical leave opportunities?
Yes Do you support lowering the cost of prescription drugs?
The Federal Government should not be involved in healthcare in any way, as it is not enumerated in the US Constitution. A true free market in healthcare and prescription drugs will reduce costs. Right now we have a market that is over regulated and controlled by the US Government. If we get back to laissez-faire capitalism in this area, prices will reduce.
Yes Do you support increasing security along the southern US border?
Yes Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
As a Libertarian and laissez-faire capitalist, I believe ultimately we should have a free market for labor. This ultimately means completely open borders and anyone wishing to come here for a job to be able to do so. However, at this point in time the current leaders in Washington have created a crisis that can only be handled by first locking down the borders completely, to gain control over the situation, then gradually over time working toward the ideal, in a safe, orderly manner.
No Do you support economic intervention as a means of resolving international conflicts?
No Do you support the U.S. providing increased offensive military aid to Ukraine?
George Washington in his farewell address, after serving as our 1st president for 8 years, famously said, "It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliance with any portion of the foreign world." This policy of avoiding all foreign entanglements is sage advice even today, and the US Government should do everything it can to make sure we do avoid these entanglements, less we be drawn into situations that are negative for the US and its people, if not all-out war.
No Do you support raising taxes, on any income or on any entity, to promote economic growth?
A tax on income is a punishment for working hard and making money. We should never tax someone's hard earned income, as it leads to a society where individuals prefer not to work, and only want Government hand-outs. If we must have a tax, to found our military and other critical functions of the US Government, as enumerated under the US Constitution, it should be based on consumption, not income.
Yes Do you generally support removing barriers to international trade (for example: tariffs, quotas, etc.)?
As stated before, I am a laissez-faire capitalist, and believe it best that the US Government promote the same in as many ways possible. A free trade market should have no barriers.
My top priority is to reduce inflation by cutting US Federal Government spending. My second priority is to reduce the US Federal Debt by cutting government programs and spending eve further, and earmarking most of tax revenue toward paying off this astronomical debt that I fear will some day soon, cripple our economy and destroy our way of life. Once we have done that, we can reduce taxes and allow more Americans to keep more of what they earn.
